FTD Mother's Day

Mother's Day is celebrated in most countries the second Sunday of May. This holiday was celebrated in the United States in 1872 in Boston by Julia Ward Howe, but it wasn't until 1907 that Mother's Day won over other U.S. Cities. Anna Jarvis and other women argued that Mother's Day should become a national holiday. In 1914, President Woodrow Wilson officially proclaimed the second Sunday of May Mother's Day.

Flowers are still the most popular and the most offered gift on Mother's Day, and this tradition continues unabated. Florists no longer talk about Mother's day as a single day, they talk about Mother's Day week!
